ELECTION
Among the LGBTQ+ pride flags and Black Lives Matter flags that swayed along the sidewalk, several "Biden 2020" flags made an appearance. This event took place November 8th, the day after the announcement that Joe Biden was poised to be the president-elect following the 2020 Presidential Election.

These words stand in reference to President Trump's comments regarding the revision of school curriculums to uplift minority voices and promote discussions of historical racism, as encouraged by the 1619 Project.

President Trump has called the work of the Black Lives Matter movement and the 1619 Project "toxic propaganda" that was opposed to "American values."

Despite record turnout from BIPOC voters, Biden has yet to fully embrace the Black Lives Matter movement in all its demands.
