Two protestors hold signs at the Women's March for Black Lives in Mastic, Long Island. November 8th, 2020.

FUTURE

A protestor holds a sign that reads "Humanity won, make racists afraid again," in reference to president-elect Joe Biden's announced win in the 2020 Presidential Election the day before this march.

President Trump has called the "Black Lives Matter" street mural in Manhattan a "symbol of hate," in addition to referring to Black Lives Matter protestors as "anarchists," "agitators," "rioters" and "looters." Trump has, in the past, suggested that the Black Lives Matter movement is also "discriminatory" and "bad for Black people."

Another protestor holds a sign that reads "No one is above the law, including officers who murder. Breonna Taylor deserves justice." Mapping Police Violence reports that police have killed around 1,000 people a year since 2013. However, only 121 officers have been arrested on charges of murder or manslaughter, and only 44 were later convicted, though some on lesser charges.
