According to the database Mapping Police Violence, law enforcement officers have killed around 1,000 people a year, and Black people are three times more likely to be killed by police.

Since 2015, around 48 Black women have been killed by police, according to the Washington Post. Only two officers were ever charged, and one was later acquitted.

"We will no longer accept that our skin color is the reason we are brutalized," said one speaker at the Women's March for Black Lives.
