NO JUSTICE

NO PEACE

Long Island residents gathered on Sunday, November 8th, 2020 to celebrate minority businesses, and later participated in a Women's March for Black Lives in Mastic.

Though the event was centered around the loss of Black lives in recent years to police brutality, with a focus on uplifting women's voices, many march participants hoisted pride flags, highlighting the intersection between anti-racism and LGBTQ+ issues, in addition to the solidarity between the Black community and the LGBTQ+ community.

A protestor and Long Island Peaceful Protest volunteer stands on the sidewalk holding a "no justice, no peace" flag poised over their shoulder. In the other hand, they hold a bunched-up transgender pride flag.
