REMEMBRANCE

210 days after Breonna Taylor was killed by police in her apartment, the grand jury charged with determining justice indicted one officer for endangering the lives of Taylor's neighbors.

No one was charged with her murder.

"Why are more Black women dying when they make up less of the population?" One speaker asked the crowd at the November 8th Women's March for Black Lives in Mastic.

Breonna Taylor's name marked several signs in the crowd, who had gathered to hear conversations by Black women about their experiences existing in the world as Black people and as women.

A protestor at the Women's March for Black Lives in Mastic, Long Island, holds a small cardboard sign that reads "Breaonna's Life Mattered." November 8th, 2020.
